Run as a half day (LITE) course or one day (online or face-to-face) run by the National Centre for Suicide Prevention, Education and Training qualified instructors, accredited by City and Guilds.
The Suicide First Aid course gives learners the knowledge and tools to understand that suicide is one of the most preventable deaths. You’ll learn skills to help someone with thoughts of suicide stay safe from their thoughts and stay alive.
Using tutor-facilitated Socratic learning, tutor-led practice sessions, mini-lectures, group work and audio-visual presentations. This is a highly interactive and emotionally engaging learning experience.
No previous experience or training is necessary. We do not discuss graphic methods of death. Participants will be asked to self-reflect and empathise with a person having thoughts of suicide. There is no expectation for participants to share personal experiences.

LivingWorks ASIST is a 2-day interactive workshop giving you practical skills to support someone who is having thoughts of suicide. Over 25 years of research back its use — from workplaces and schools to healthcare, construction, and community settings.

This workshop is suitable for those looking to understand and improve their knowledge about mental health and to learn the skills to support their own and others’ positive wellbeing in the workplace.
Delegates aged 18 or older can attend this course.
Candidates need a basic command of English (defined as Level 2). While we are often able to provide support to people who do not have English as a first language, our ability to do so is limited by the time available and the number of people who require assistance. We may be able to make special arrangements if requested in advance. Please contact us if you need any guidance.
We’re keen to create bespoke training for certain sectors and groups of people to ensure relevant content around specific signs, situations and support is provided.
We have developed a bespoke suicide prevention course for hotel staff to understand when a guest with thoughts/plans of suicide may be checking in – how to identify this and how and where to intervene.
